History

Kiki is a very sweet and timid Canadian lynx who had been privately owned by an elderly couple in Iowa. The Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota generously provided Kiki with transportation to her new home at Safe Haven.

On especially hot days, Kiki stays cool by swimming in her kiddie pool and licking the large blocks of ice provided by her keepers. Kiki also really enjoys and looks forward to her food, and can be seen patiently waiting in the same spot every day come feeding time.

About Canadian Lynx

Canadian lynx are native to Canada, Alaska and the northern United States. They have very dense coats, distinctive, tufted ears and are larger in size than bobcats. Since they tend to fare better in the snow and colder, winter temperatures, we have to sure to provide them with adequate means of cooling themselves during the warmer spring and summer months, such as shade, kiddie pools filled with water and ice to lick.
