Jabari began his residency in 2025

HISTORY

Jabari came from West Coast Game Safari Park in Oregon after their facility was shut down for multiple USDA violations and animal neglect. 

When he arrived he was very skinny and was super excited during feeding times, as we started him on 12 pounds of raw meat (with added supplements) a day! He has since grown to a healthy weight and loves to stalk staff and visitors by hiding behind his platform and trees. He also enjoys competitive caroling with our other lions at the sanctuary!

ABOUT AFRICAN LIONS

The African lion’s mane helps to protect them when fighting. Roaring establishes their territory and can be heard as far as five miles away.
